Working closely with reporters, Ma'ayan provides editorial support in many ways, one being her infamous illustrations. Her work can be seen in articles, on the homepage, in social share graphics and in the live stream. A share graphic Ma’ayan made to commemorate the life of Nelson Mandela was one of the most shared graphics for ABC News. On the day of Mandela’s memorial in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ma’ayan’s graphic could be seen behind President Obama across the stadium.
infographics
As ABC News’ first infographic extraordinaire, Ma’ayan helped infographics to become a reality for the news organization. Lots of data, difficult subject matters and fast turn-arounds are all things Ma’ayan is adept at overcoming. Using visuals and typography, Ma’ayan is able to spot key facts and create clean and concise infographics, fast.
ABC News Mobile
As the sole designer of the ABC News mobile site, Ma’ayan helped to give ABC News it’s first redesign in years. Ma’ayan researched mobile trends and reviewed product research to help design the look and feel of the site. The navigation which pushes in from the left is the backbone of the easy user experience. Creating an aesthetically clean and user friendly experience, users can now swipe through content faster and easier than before. The new and improved mobile site is now the most trafficked ABC News platform.
